Our founder Lisa Janvrin, became pregnant at 40 with her first child. Lisa spent her entire career as a creative problem solver, tapping into the power of design. But she found herself in uncharted territory when it came to her baby nursery.
After landing on a budget, next came a barrage of other questions. They flooded her "baby brain", leaving her feeling overwhelmed.
Fortunately, having been hired as a professional stylist by e-commerce brands to design complete room looks she had mastered the art of online shopping and producing cohesive looks in a digital layout. Tapping into social media platforms including Pinterest and Houzz made it easy to organize her favorite products and room inspiration photos. In fact, it was TOO easy. Lisa found herself spending an excessive number of hours scouring the internet for baby bedding, gliders, curtains, mobiles, poufs, etc. Spending all her free moments glued to her devices and obsessed with comparing prices and product reviews from one site to another. (Sound familiar?) By the time baby came Lisa had created the ultimate space to welcome home their baby and was proud of the outcome. Except, she realized it sucked up a ridiculous amount of her time over several months. She thought if she, a professional stylist, was spending so much time on this one aspect of preparing for a baby, other expecting moms must be too. Ultimately, evaluating her own experience setting up nursery, Lisa developed a refined, time-saving virtual process that would be fun and convenient for all expecting and existing moms. Now her company YouthfulNest saves time-poor parents time (and their sanity) designing a stylish and functional room for their baby or child. |
