Hello, 2021! We’ve been waiting for you. We’re definitely ready for a fresh start after the craziness of last year. While 2021 may still have us cuddled up at home, there’s something beautiful about hitting the reset button and starting fresh. Since we’ll all still be spending more time at home for at least the next few months (and hopefully not too much longer!), it’s even more important that the spaces we spend the most time in bring us joy and peace. Which has us thinking about all things new for the nursery. The nursery is homebase for parents of new little ones so it’s extra important that it brings joy to all who spend time in it. Fortunately, there are tons of amazing new products out there designed to make your days in the nursery a bit brighter and most importantly, easier. And we could all use a bit more ease right now. We’re eyeing woodland themes, rich textures, and heirlooms in the making for nursery design as we make our way into this new year.

As we are getting ready for gift giving season, one of the challenges is to buy things that fit into our play space, both literally and figuratively. A play space is a parenting essential. If you don’t already have that space, maybe that should be the gift you give yourself. Whether you have a small space and need the area to serve multiple functions (for us it’s our guest room) or if you’ve repurposed your three-car garage to build a mini DisneyLand, it is important to have a designated area for play. There is nothing sustainable or healthy about toys being strewn all over the house. My son is 9 months old now. And as a big kid, myself, I’m already having a ton of fun creating his play area. There are a few things that are must-haves for me. This post may contain affiliate links which help support our blog efforts.
Few occasions in a person’s life are more exciting and celebratory than a pregnancy and the birth of a child. In fact, if you ask any mother what the most exciting day of her life was, she will most likely forgo her wedding or graduation day and without hesitation cite her baby’s birth as the number one best day ever (we can easily understand why). Of course, we are not living in typical times. The coronavirus pandemic has put many in-person celebrations on hold, including baby showers, gender reveals and any other in-person events of that nature. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still celebrate. Here’s a look at the history of some of the key celebrations surrounding pregnancy and childbirth, how they’ve come to be the occasions we know and love today and how you can celebrate these exciting milestones with your loved ones. These days as we stick close to home many families are re-evaluating their living spaces. As we sit longer in a chair binging Netflix or sit around the dining room table – we can't help take note of spots that aren't quite as comfy as we thought they were. We also have a desire to make our spaces work better. The nursery is one space in the home YouthfulNest strives to guide our clients to be comfortable and functional. With all the hours we spend in the nursery comfy isn't just a physical feeling but also a visual one. Your eyes take in your environment and you internalize what you see. So soft or muted colors are often recommended for a more calming space for babe and parents. Our recent partnership with Project Nursery takes into consideration all aspects of setting up the nursery. This southern charmer of a nursery has all that. Comfort, beauty, and functionality. Designed by YouthfulNest designer Caitriona Boyd for Morgan Bullard – this is one mama who is sitting pretty and comfy.

What's your child's nickname? Amy Molk named her company after her son Theodore a.k.a. Pooka. It was her guilt of the inevitable "mom-fail" moment that encouraged her to create Pooka Box, a subscription box that encourages childhood development through play. Available for babies and kids at various ages from 0-3yrs. How cool is it that various subscriptions are available in our Pop Up Shop thru December 3rd! Read all about Pooka Box below and then check out this great gift idea in our shop. |
