You might not feel comfortable with white as a child friendly color. We think the bedroom is the perfect place to use this color, unless their room doubles as a cafeteria or an art room. The bedroom is where they do things like dress, read, sleep and dream. Having a clean canvas to let their imagination run free and rest their eyes from distractions – we think white makes an ideal bedroom color choice.
Doing a white on white room, right, is trickier than you might think. It’s kinda like doing make-up that looks effortless or like you aren’t wearing any. It takes more effort and attention to detail to create a natural made-up face than it does regular colorful make-up. If a white room look is done wrong it will appear boring, austere or even cold. Not quite what you want for your baby’s nursery or child’s room. Styling tips to consider: +White on White: You don't have to select all your furnishings, decor, accents or wall color in the same white tone. Curating variations of whites to layer on each other give the space a richer look perfect for more classic or romantic styles. If you want that fresh modern look than keeping in the same bright white tone is key to the overall final result. +Make it Pop: Add a minimal pop of color through decor accents, pillows, throws, wall art, etc. It doesn't need to be a bright color, just the use of a color that you sneak in here or there for visual interest. +Texture This: Bring in texture to add dimension and interest to the space. Layer the decor, with shaggy pillows, a large knit puff, or reflective surface such as mirrored side table. +Pale in Comparison: Don’t be afraid to bring in the palest shade of pink, yellow or gray somewhere. Maybe in the wall color, glider or rug. Here are some white rooms that caught our attention! See if you recognize why they work from our styling suggestions above.

Pink is the IT color this month as October is breast cancer awareness month. There are candies, candles and even pink cars promoting the Race for the Cure®. So in the spirit of the power of pink we wanted to share how to incorporate this hue into your everyday. Check out these great pieces that are pretty in pink! Do you believe in love at first site? I do, I spotted this months Pin-Up among several pretty images on NiftyNeat’s Etsy store and fell in love. As you know I am a sucker for books as decor, so when I was looking through NiftyNeat's nursery and decor designs I thought the cloud mobiles were perfectly sweet and thought the geometric metal shapes were totally cool. But what really caught my eye were the dangling, artfully crafted, custom book mobiles.
