Cityscape Mural: The inspiration for this accent wall’s mural was this bright pop art look of the NYC skyline. In keeping with the rooms grey & gold color theme I swapped out color for a monochromatic graphic look.
The process was rather detailed, but well worth it: first drawing out the buildings in a graphic design program (I used Illustrator); creating a grid on the digital file matching the wall specs; transferring each individual building onto the wall with a pencil; taping off each building in preparation for painting; and finally painting each building.
To keep on budget I narrowed the colors to only three of the small containers of paint samples that I had already purchased when deciding on the room’s wall color.
